PETALING JAYA: Malaysia's junior rhythmic gymnast Yap Lee Ya bagged a silver in the Pacific Alliance gymnastics championships in Hawaii on Friday. Lee Ya chalked up 11.400 for silver in the rope event in the junior category. American Racher Marmer took the gold with 12.250. Lee Ya finished fourth in the hoop category (11.825), which was also won by Marmer with a score of 13.200. Nabihah Ali, the only Malaysian artistic gymnast taking part, also gave a creditable display when she qualified for the all-around individual final in the junior category. The 15-year-old finished 14th with a combined total score of 50.000. Malaysia's top rhythmic gymnast Durratun Nasihin Rosli finished fourth in the ball’s event of the senior category. Chrystal Lim and Jamie Lee were seventh and 16th respectively. Durratun finished seventh in the rope event while Jamie and Chrystal finished eighth and 12th respectively.
